Cummins
Although the core engine has stayed
the same over the years, the fuel delivery system has seen the full
spectrum. The early Cummins through 1994 were equipped with a VE
style Rotary injection pump. We have converted many of these vehicles
and there are no inherent problems. Between 1994 and early 1998,
they utilized the P-7100 inline pump. This pump is rock solid and
the engine is bulletproof, making these year Cummins hard to come
by as many owners hang on to them.
In late 1998 Cummins introduce the 24 valve engine. Although they
were working on the new common rail injection system, it was not
ready yet so they put on a Bosch VP-44 injection pump as a stop
gap. Big mistake! The pandemic injection pump failures that ensued
are legendary. Vehicles were equipped with this pump until 2002.
We do not support the conversion of this engine. You can find more
information on the Dodge 24 Valve engines in the Dodge Vehicle Specific
area of our Fuel Systems FAQ section.

In 2003, the Cummins was released with the currently available common
rail fuel delivery system and the dark years were over. We converted
our first one within a month of them being released and have come
to love them for their simplicity and durability. The new common-rail
system between 2003 and current works extremely well with SVO and
we have a 3 year track record to back it up.

Golden Fuel Systems is proud to announce the newest Upgrade to
our Fuel Systems – In addition to the 12 and 20 Gallon Capacity
tanks, the Trekker Poly System is now available in single-chamber
40 and single-chamber 60 gallon Tanks with the ability to combine
these tanks for multiple set-ups. These systems are modular and
could expand to double, triple or quadruple chamber systems with
capacities up to 240 Gallons ((4) 60 gallon Tanks.) Dual, Triple
and Quadruple tanks systems are upgradeable with the Integrated
One-Shot Filtration System or Integrated Half-shot Filtration
System.
The Integrated One-Shot (IOS) or Half-shot Filtration (IHS) System
allows the user to control the filtration system from inside the
vehicle. No more standing out in the cold to pump and filter oil!
Just Transfer oil from an oil container with the 7 GPM Transfer
Pump (available upgrade) into the holding/warming tank. When the
user is on the road, they can flip the switch for the IOS/IHS
and activate the filtration system. It will draw the warm oil
from the holding chamber, filter it through a heated Racor Aquabloc
filter and discharge it into the clean chamber. This is an unparalleled
mobile collection and filtration system for the cold months.
